Resolutions that are easy to keep!

Are you thinking about making New Year’s resolutions?  If you are like me I set the same resolutions each year and never stick to them – things like lose weight, stop drinking etc.  Then I am so hard on myself when I fail to stick to them –  so here are five that are easy to keep!

Get Moving!

I think we are all guilty of sitting too much, especially this time of year when the weather is dull, cold and miserable.  Living a sedentary life makes it more likely that you will be overweight and puts you at a higher risk of depression!  Try these resolutions – get up every 20 minutes and stretch.  Start taking daily walks – you will be surprised how energized you feel!

Change your attitude to gratitude!

Take time to count your blessings and think of all the good things in your life! There are studies that show that gratitude can make you much happier.  Being grateful will help you to improve your sleep quality, overcome adversity and get along better with others!

Eat regularly!

There is no need to feel bad if you are not really a breakfast person as new research has shown that breakfast is not the most important meal of the day!  However, if you want to boost your metabolism you should develop regular eating patterns.  There is evidence that eating irregularly can send confusing signals to your body.  Eating regularly helps your digestive system know what to expect which in turn helps it function better!

Ditch Your Old Clothes!

We are all guilty of having clothes in our wardrobe that we just don’t wear anymore –  if you haven’t worn it in a year, donate it and  give someone else the chance to. On that note another bad habit is we love to spend money even if it’s for no good reason. Don’t need it? Don’t buy it!

Make sure you take care of yourself!
